Weight:
When I started this week, I weighed 226.2 pounds. Today, my new weight is 222.8 pounds. That’s a loss of 3.4 pounds. I am only 23 pounds away from being under 200. I can’t believe it’s this close. I’m hoping to see the 100s in 9 more weeks or less. That would require me to lose an average of at least 2.44 pounds per week. I think that should be possible considering my averages. Today’s weight puts me at 90.4 pounds lost in 28 weeks.
Exercise:
This week (19-25 July) I ran a total of 22.5 miles. I did slack a little in the weight lifting, so I will need to re-do week 6 again. I did get on the elliptical every day except Monday and yesterday (Sunday).
Week in review:
This week was a great week for me. I am feeling better, looking better, and my clothes are falling off of me. I’m finding that I am not nearly as self-conscious about how I look as I used to be. One thing that bummed me out this week is that the US Army X-Country Half Marathon I was planning to do in September (the day before my birthday!) has been changed to an 8-Miler. Oh, well. I’ll still run it. I’m planning on celebrating my birthday, a big race, and hopefully weighing in under 200 pounds. It’s going to be a great weekend.
One thing that I am really excited about this coming week is my son Nick. Today is his 11th birthday. On Saturday he is going to be running in his first 5k. He seems mildly interested, while I’m the one who’s excited about his first race. I can’t wait to take pictures as he reaches the finish line!
I have lost 62.34% of the total weight I want to lose.
Scheduled Races:
Pony Pasture 5k – 31 July 2010
Henricus Dauber Dash (5mi mud run) – 7 August 2010
Moonlight 4 Mile run – 12 August 2010
VA Beach Rock and Roll Half Marathon – 5 September 2010
US Army X-Country 8-Miler – 25 September 2010

Ed, I can’t believe how well you’ve done this year. You are so inspiring that I tell your story to lots of my other friends. My mom is a walker, and she is just as interested in your story as I am. She used to work at Lucy Corr, so she was disappointed that she didn’t get to meet you that day.
Keep up the good work. I can’t wait to see you cross over that magical line!
Thanks Robin, I am still surprised at my progress this year too. I wish I could have met your mom at Lucy Corr. Perhaps another time.
